Sites We Recommend - The Rubber Beermat

ZX SpectrumWhen we visited the Retro Fusion event we met a few people who had their own websites - I know shocking eh? - and as such we were impressed by most, and unimpressed by others. One that I have to mention is ‘The Rubber Beermat” a site dedicated to all things Speccy related.

What impressed my most about Michael from TRB was that his outlook for the site was very realistic. He doesn’t want to try and compete with other sites by hosting emulations or a forum, instead concentrating, much like we do here, on personal opinion and review of the software of kings.

So if you can remember waiting a few minutes for The Flintstones to load, to then be annoyed by that bloody wall painting book an afternoon off and visit the site.

It might seem a little odd, considering the fact that we have both written frankly about how broken the game feels, but we are also both gamers, looking for something to love in any game we play. And yes we do include Army of Two in that theory.

Hit the jump for a detailed rundown of what we loved, and why.

One Hour Playtest - Battlefield: Bad Company (Single Player Mode)

Battlefield Bad CompanyThe Battlefield series has been a long standing stalwart of online gaming excellence - the PC versions in particular -but Battlefield: Bad Company has had a very troubled upbringing. Very much a case of blame the parents though, it is an EA title.

So with angry blog talk and ‘virtual riots’ concerning the micro-transactions that were rumoured early on, and horrific lag blighting the early days of the multiplayer demo have DICE managed to defy the criticisms and the cynics?

Will I be able to write anything relevant considering I forgot I was writing this until now, so have missed the launch week by a fair bit now?

Will there be MEDIPACKSSSS???

Find out after the jump…
