I am Confused Right Now… No, Not Like That!

FIGHT!I like to spend a lot of my time on t’internet reading news posts, watching videos and browsing the plethora of web comics online right now, som gaming related, take CAD for example, and others more obscure, like xkcd or Amazing Superpowers.

I like them, but I also like the Zero Punctuation series, and this week’s video caused the two to clash, leaving me with the same feeling you have when two of your best friends have an argument over who gets to lick the spoon after a baking session - and no that isn’t an analogy unfortunately.

Hit the jump for the offending video.

Now we at the Lolocaust applauded the efforts of CAD creator Tim Buckley over the recent storyline involving Ethan, Lilah and their miscarriage, but this video, despite a little disclaimer at the end is clearly highly critical of the series in general, let alone the recent plot. Now I can see the point to be made about the masses of bad webcomics, but I hardly think that CAD falls into that category. Less smug than Penny Arcade, I have followed the series for a few years now, and it has become something of a regular part of my life, gamer or not.

On top of this you have the sheer fact that many internet dwellers are in fact devoid of real world experiences, so why shouldn’t a fairly innocuous webcomic deal with such a subject?

Either way it’s uncomfortable viewing, and begs thought of whether the Zero Punctuation videos are now focused on pulling apart every aspect of gaming life, to fit the ‘personality’ established with justified rants?

So. where do you stand?
