The lolocaust is a community of gamers and know-it-alls attempting to set the world to rights whether it wants to hear it or not. A funny outlook on the games world as we see it.

The Lolocaust is full of people who like to fiddle and strum. Sometimes in a darkened alley behind a local Girls’ School, and sometimes with a good old excuse for an expensive peripheral - Rock Band, Guitar Hero etc…
Our own JWDVD posted up his excitable impressions of the DS kit, which allows you to Rock out while, well, out. But today the track listing was announced, and it is as underwhelming as it gets.
Do What You Want - OK Go
All The Small Things - Blink 182
Spiderwebs - No Doubt
Are You Gona Be My Girl - Jet
We’re Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
All Star - Smash Mouth
Breed - Nirvana
Jessie’s Girl - Rick Springfield
Hit Me With Your Best Shot - Pat Benatar
This Love - Maroon 5
Heaven - Los Lonely Boys
Helicopter - Bloc Party
China Grove - The Doobie Brothers
Rock and Roll All Nite - KISS (cover by Line 6)
What I Want - Daughtry
Now don’t get me wrong, there are a couple of decent tracks, but I was hoping for fifteen of the absolute best. I wanted to be Aerosmith on the Train, I fancied sitting in the bank playing ‘Suck My Kiss’ and most of all I wanted to be hitting the high notes with Axl Rose in the high street. But alas I am likely to be doing all my strumming at home, for fear of being spotted rocking out to Pat Benatar at a primary school.
Ah well, it was a good idea, but unless this track listing changes I can see it being less popular than an Austrian man at an incest survivors group.

In what will probably become a regular feature we’ll be discovering exactly why it’s better to own a 360 - and this first post will cover the brand spanking new and hyped-up over-egged Grand Theft Auto [III][Vice City][San Andreas] IV .
So far two of the top brass of Lolocaust have given slightly different views of the new R* got-to-be-a-smash-hit-because-half-the-buying-public-have-no-f’in-control-over-what-they-buy- and-will-believe-all-the-hype-handed-down-to-them-(HALO3-anyone?), and because of this I will probably end up buying it at some point (agreeing completely with my long giving-it-a-name-in-hyphens idea). We all know that it’s going to be the game of the year, because we the game-playing-public are at times lead on so easily by those that feed us hype. We all should be playing more Burnout Paradise, which for me is the game of the year without question.
Anyhow, back onto the topic of this feature - Aren’t you glad you got a 360? It would seem that some unfortunate owners of *another* console that also plays R* latest humdinger are unfortunately only able to play the game for about 60 seconds before being subjected to still life images and previews of upcoming game soundtrack - ‘freezing’ to you and me. Some users of this other system claim that re-installing the game does nothing… hang on, reinstalling?
Since when has a frickin’ console needed you to “install” the game. Christ alive, I’m missing something here. Sorry lads, can’t play GTA IV on my *other console* just yet as I’m having to update my gamepad and blue led drivers!!! HELLO, earth to gaming industry. Since when?
Some of the possible fixes for the problem are listed (by users of *other console*) as:
Unplug the console from the network and load it
Turn off something called media sharing and load it
Use a wired controller instead
Change the resolution the other console plays
Unplug the power cable and load it
Unplug everything and load it
Turn off your TV and go do something else instead
Trade it in for a 360 version (honest - this is a real fix)
Unfortunately nothing works 100% of the time and most owners will just have to wait for R* to stop partying from the global-sales-domination they’re enjoying to actually fix the problem. Of course, some owners of the other console are wondering how they’ll manage to get the new version and expect R* to post it out to them. Nice idea. I get all my patches and DLC over the in-ter-net. Perhaps you’ve heard of it.
Of course it goes without saying that this is just one more entry on the long list of “issues”. Such as firmware updates so that you can play more same-generation games. How about a new build of the console that now does upscaling by using the processor rather than dedicated hardware (software modems anyone?). Or even the wonderful ability for the console to turn off your router for you. If you’re really looking you could even find one that will use 12GB of data for saved games and firmware updates. Nice touch.
